NLP Happiness: Programming Your Happiness

This article is a transcript of the following video:

Underneath Manhattan beach pier is my favorite place in Los Angeles. When working on a personal project that I do for my own brain and my own wellbeing and relates to how I anchor music, this is what I do in a place like this.

Anytime that I’m in a beautiful location and I go for a walk, or I ride a bicycle, I really pay attention to what I see, hear, feel, taste, and smell. I’m completely in uptime, and I code that inside my brain. While I’m doing that, I’ll play the same song. In my case, it’s “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

Another thing that I do is, during training these days, I often bring the same song in there and it reminds me of all the amazing things that happened inside the training room, including all the amazing people that I meet.

So, maybe that’s a suggestion you can use. Of course now that I’ve coded all these amazing locations around the world at this moment in time, anytime that I feel a little down or a little blah I play the song “Happy” and then I can take myself on a mental trip around all the amazing feelings that I’ve had, all the amazing people that I’ve met, and locations that I’ve experienced. So maybe that’s an idea for you.
