Emotional Intelligence for Coaching, an Effective Tool for Life Coaching and Business Application
The standard EI model points to four types of abilities: 1) Perceiving emotions- this is the ability to perceive and label your own emotions, and the ability to detect emotions and the meaning of those emotions in the voices, expressions and gestures of others. Emotional Intelligence blends nearly flawlessly with NLP in that once we begin to create the ability to label, understand and manage our own emotions and the emotions of others we can then utilize the various NLP patterns and interventions with razor precision. Since this important area of study has begun to increase in importance throughout the last decade, it has become generally agreed that the measure of Emotional Intelligence is a much greater predictor of success in most areas of life than IQ which had been the standard measure of possible success in life since the early 1900’s. Numerous recent studies have shown the competence in and a high level of Emotional Intelligence (as measured through an EQ assessment) has led to greater productivity, increased sales, better employee/employer relations, lowered employee turnover, greatly improved coaching and therapeutic outcomes and in general better overall life experience for both the practitioner and end user of a product or service. Emotional Intelligence programs have been put in place in private industry, therapy, coaching, and even the military with greatly enhanced results. Financial advisors, line employees in factories, executive level management personal, and even the debt collection industry all have shown marked improvement through the use of Emotional Intelligence, the EQ assessments and in combination with NLP coaching techniques this success is amplified even beyond previous possibilities. In short the development, awareness and implementation of Emotional Intelligence programs coupled with the time tested process of NLP have been on the increase over the last decade and continue to develop into one of the most valuable tools for business, government, coaching and therapy. Emotional Intelligence Coaching is part of our Social and Emotional Intelligence Certification, which also includes MBTI personality typology.
