Starting a Life Coaching Business Tips 1-3 (previous)
Starting a Life Coaching Business:
Tip 4: Don’t do it alone, I am not saying you should run out to find a business partner to start a life coaching business. What I mean is that you need to make sure that you have support from those around you, your partner, your children, friends and family. You are going to need their support when you are starting your own life coaching business.
Tip 5: Set up a proper legal/tax structure. We can understand that it is tempting to moonlight free of taxes and legalities initially. Few life coaching businesses start off with 40 hours worth of customers, so a few hours here and a few hours there the tax man won’t notice (you may think.) As your business growths you are absolutely required to go by the books properly. This can be extremely difficult to establish if you have been winging it originally. Besides you don’t want to get in to trouble, as a business owner you have responsibilities. Do the right thing when starting a life coaching business, you don’t want to regret it later.
Tip 6: Be Professional. We understand you are starting a business. But you have to let people know you are serious about starting your life coaching business. Looks do matter, and first impressions even more. A nice brochure, website, business card, and letter head go a long way. And for a coach it is doubly important that your clients know you have what it takes to coach them, you are a pro after all! A way to achieve this is to make sure your approach looks professional, your first meeting must look, feel, and sound they just met with a pro.
